Funding for National Tribal Protection Order Registry Initiative

The Office of Justice Programs, within the Department of Justice has announced funding in the amount of $2,500,000 to support the Office of Violence Against Women 2013 National Tribal Protection Order Registry Initiative.

The goal of this initiative is to develop and implement a tribal protection order registry specified in Title IX of Violence Against Women Act 2005 containing civil and criminal orders of protection issued by Indian tribes and participating jurisdictions, as well as to assist tribes with accessing the national criminal information databases.
