NA (2008) - $99,790

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe (PYT) is a federally recognized Native American tribe located in southern Arizona. The tribe has a membership of almost 16,000 members. The tribe will use its award to continue moving toward its last phase of developing relevant products for its target market and training for its staff and board members. Specifically, it will use its 2008 NACA TA grant to: 1) hire a community program manager to design asset building consumer products; and 2) pay for staff/board training from the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions. PYT was awarded $99,790.



NACA (2007) - $140,263

Pascua Yaqui Tribe is sponsoring a new Native CDFI credit union in Arizona expecting to receive its Federal Charter by June 2007 and operations scheduled to begin in 2008. PYT has identified its target market as tribal members and non-tribal members who work for the government and the casino. They will use the 2007 TA grant to further develop its business strategies and hire new staff.



NACA (2006) - $97,000

The Pascua Yaqui Tribe is the sponsoring entity of a federal credit union in Southern Arizona. Operations are projected to begin January of 2008. This NACA TA grant of $97,000 will allow the tribe to: 1) obtain consulting services for organizing the credit union, conduct a market analysis/product feasibility, and develop a business plan; 2) provide training for at least 4 staff and/or board members on credit union management and leadership; 3) purchase three computers, printers, and a fax machine; and 4) pay for staff compensation and miscellaneous operating expenses.
