Los Angeles Neighborhood Housing Services Lending Services (LANHSLS)is a certified CDFI that was incorporated in 1996, and shares a mission with its affiliates to improve and restore neighborhoods in Los Angeles County by promoting reinvestment, providing decent and affordable housing to Low and Moderate income persons, and encouraging economic opportunities. LANHSLS pursues its mission by providing flexible home purchase, refinance, foreclosure prevention and rehabilitation financing, and home ownership education to its clients. LANHSLS effectively leverages its resources to maximize its community development impact.

CDFI Awards for NHS Neighborhood Lending Services


FA (2008) - $1,100,000

NHS Neighborhood Lending Services (NHSNLS) is a certified CDFI in operation since 1984 NHSNLS is the largest non-profit affordable homeownership provider in Southern California and is committed to creating lifelong homeowners and stable communities for low and moderate-income families in the Los Angeles MSA NHSNLS will use its award to focus activity in areas that are predominately minority and experiencing high default and foreclosure rates The FY08 Financial Assistance award of $1,000,000 will be used as lending capital for homebuyers and the FY08 Technical Assistance grant of $100,000 will fund staff salary to assist in providing affordable housing financial products and services in the Target Market.



FA (2004) - $1,000,000

NHS Neighborhood Lending Services will use the award to increase its home equity lending in Hot Zones and Investment Areas.



CORE (2002) - $1,000,000

LANHSLS received a financial assistance award from the CDFI Fund of $1,000,000.00 in support of its existing activities and long-term institutional growth.
