Colorado Enterprise Fund is a microenterprise program founded in 1976 that provides loans and technical assistance to microentrepreneurs located in the 10-county Front Range area of Colorado. It targets its programs to low- and moderate-income entrepreneurs, woman- and minority-owned businesses, and businesses located in distressed communities.

CDFI Awards for Colorado Enterprise Fund


FA (2008) - $1,100,000

Colorado Enterprise Fund is a certified CDFI in operation since 1976. Colorado Enterprise Fund is a nonprofit loan fund offering micro loans, small business loans, and technical assistance to socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs in the State of Colorado. Colorado Enterprise Fund will use the FY08 Financial Assistance award of $1,000,000 as financing capital in its target market and will use the FY08 Technical Assistance grant of $100,000 to: 1) hire a loan coordinator; 2) purchase software and training, and 3) perform updates to its website.



CORE (2002) - $300,000

The Fund"s capital grant of $300,000 will support the growth of the organization"s core lending program and will enable it to continue to expand its geographic service area within the State of Colorado.



CORE (1999) - $500,000

The CDFI Fund"s $500,000 capital grant will support growth of the organization"s core lending program and will help finance the creation of a new loan pool for people with disabilities to start their own businesses. It will also help CEF to expand its geographic service area from the current 10 counties to a statewide service area over the next five years.



SECA (1998) - $50,000

CEF is being awarded a $50,000 Technical Assistance grant which will be used to increase its capacity through expanding its computer system and updating its software technology and phone system capacity. Additionally, the grant will be used to obtain professional consulting services in the areas of office technology, staff and board training, and program evaluation and implementation.



CORE (1997) - $275,000

The CDFI Fund"s grant of $250,000 and technical assistance of $25,000 will help the Colorado Enterprise Fund expand its lending capabilities and to launch its new initiative of financing child care businesses.
