CDFI Awards for Saguache County Credit Union
FA (2006) - $585,000
Saguache County Credit Union (SCCU) is a certified CDFI established in 1996. SCCU provides financing and development services to individuals and businesses in rural, low-income areas of south central Colorado. SCCU will use the 2006 Financial Assistance Award of $585,000 primarily to provide mortgage and construction loans to its target market.
FA (2004) - $250,000
Saguache County Credit Union will use the award to increase its capital reserves and allow for additional deposits to be collected at its "Center Branch." This branch development will result in more lending for first mortgages and home equity loans. Expected impacts include 90 new first time homeowners, 180 home improvement loans, and 105 emergency loans. Saguache serves a rural area that includes Hot Zones.
TA (2003) - $50,000
SCCU is receiving $50,000 Technical Assistance grant from the Fund to acquire new loan/accounting software and a server. These technology upgrades will allow the applicant to better serve its Target Market by providing more efficient services.
