FA (2009) - $2,000,000

Home HeadQuarters, Inc is a nonprofit home improvement lender in operation since 1996. It is a certified CDFI serving central and upstate New York. Home HeadQuarters offers lending, planning and real estate development and home ownership services to low- and moderate-income individuals and minority populations. The CDFI will use its FY2009 Financial Assistance award for home improvement lending capital.



TA (2007) - $59,467

Home HeadQuarters, Inc. (HH) is a certified CDFI established in 1996. HH provides homeownership products and services to a Low-Income Targeted Market in six counties in Central New York State. HH will use its FY07 Technical Assistance grant to: 1) obtain consulting services to augment its internal databases and upgrade its server; 2) to pay for staff time to oversee the technological upgrades and conduct internal product and market expansion research; and, 3) to acquire computers and office equipment.



FA (2004) - $551,000

Home Headquarters, Inc. (HHQ) will be used to help HHQ continue to expand its home improvement loan product, and it will help HHQ continue to fund a loan product to nonprofit organizations that will support HHQ"s housing and community development mission.



CORE (2001) - $1,010,000

The Fund"s grant of $1,000,000 will used to provide loans to more low- to moderate-income homebuyers in order to revitalize neighborhoods in its market. The $10,000 technical assistance grant will be used award and $1,000,000 is a capital grant.



SECA (1998) - $32,000

The CDFI Fund"s $32,000 Technical Assistance Grant will be used to build the capacity of Home Headquarters through training of staff and purchase of computers and loan management software. It will also be used to obtain consulting services to evaluate and improve the organization"s internal policies and procedures, capitalization strategies, and use of technology and strengthen the business plan.

The The Minority Business Development Agency has recently constituted the Minority Business Enterprise Centers (MBEC) Program wherein it aims to support minority-owned businesses by providing them with electronic and one-on-one business development services for a reasonably nominal fee.




Co-founders William Mann and David Mravyan devised the Sensimat during a mandatory project for their MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada. Sensimat is a device that helps manage and assess pressure among wheelchair users.
