The Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation (CTCR) is creating a CDFI that will finance tribal businesses and provide credit opportunities to individuals for business and homeownership purposes. Developing a diverse economy is a goal of the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation.

NACA (2009) - $143,343

The Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis is the sponsoring entity for the Chehalis Tribal Loan Fund. The Tribe established the Chehalias Tribal Loan Fund in January 2007 to provide business loans and small business training and assistance to Chehalis tribal members. The Tribe will use is FY2009 Technical Assistance grant to: 1) purchase computer hardware and loan management software; 2) obtain training for staff and board members on business lending; 3) engage consultants to help develop a CDFI capitalization plan; and; 4) support staff operations.



NACTA (2002) - $83,000

The CDFI Fund award in the amount of $83,000 will allow for the CTCR to obtain a feasibility and market study, develop tribal codes, develop a CDFI business plan, develop a capitalization plan, and develop underwriting criteria, lending and development processes, and an accounting process. Training for staff and board members will also be possible.
