EducationUSA Advisor

The Public Affairs Section of the Embassy of the United States in Panama announces an open competition for organizations to submit funding applications to employ a higher education specialist to launch the EducationUSA program in Panama.

Please carefully follow all instructions below.

Project
Objectives: This project advances the U. S. interest in promoting closer ties with Panama through the facilitation of academic exchange.

The provision of high-quality U. S. education to Panamanian students will also promote economic development and regional stability.

The launch of the program and associated high-level initiatives will further reinforce ties between U. S. and Panamanian institutions.

Project Description: This project will employ a higher education specialist to design and implement a strategy to promote U.S.-Panama academic exchange through EducationUSA and by other means.

The specialist will use advanced knowledge of educational systems in both the U. S. and Panama to achieve maximum engagement of institutions throughout the country.

The specialist will conduct regular outreach presentations and advising to students in Panama and facilitate connections for U. S. institutions.

The specialist will also create sustainable procedures, presentations, and other materials to support long-term operation of the EducationUSA program in Panama.

In addition to EducationUSA, the specialist will work more broadly to promote stronger ties with U. S. universities, businesses, research institutions, and think tanks, with particular focus on technical assistance exchanges in science and technology.

The specialist will help plan and implement other projects of this nature.

In order to achieve the objectives, the specialist will possess a wide network of senior leaders in these various sectors and coordinate among them.

The project implementer will be the organization that employs the specialist on a one-year contract and officially supervises the position while permitting close and direct coordination between the specialist and the U. S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section.

The specialist will also work with the EducationUSA regional office.

Partners and Audience: The ideal implementer of this project will be an organization that promotes education in Panama and has the ability to prepare and execute a professional contract for employment of the specialist.
