The purpose of this award is to provide funding through a cooperative agreement for a collection agent to administer the third round of the National Survey of Youth in Custody (NSYC-3).
NSYC-3 will gather self-reported sexual assault data from youth in juvenile correctional facilities.
Activities
include drawing a national sample of state-operated juvenile facilities and locally or privately-operated facilities that house adjudicated youth under state contract, administering the survey to sampled youth within these facilities, and conducting other data collection, analysis, and reporting activities as needed.
Successful completion of these activities will meet the data collection and analysis requirements of the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (P.L.
108-79) and will provide a list of juvenile correctional systems and facilities according to the prevalence of sexual victimization.
BJS anticipates making one award for a 48-month period )January 2, 2017 to December 31, 2020) under this solicitation.
