Through this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), the U. S. Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation), is accepting applications for projects to be funded by the Science and Technology (S&T) Program.

Through this program, Reclamation is forming partnerships with

private industry, universities, water utilities, and others to address a need for innovative new technologies and processes in the area of water treatment.

Reclamation is interested in new, innovative technologies and processes that have gone past the idea and bench scale phase and are ready to go into development of prototypes and pilot scale systems to be tested with real waters.

The technical review of applications submitted under this FOA will be conducted in two phases.

In phase 1, all applications will be scored against the evaluation criteria in Section V.B.

“Evaluation Criteria” by an Application Review Committee (ARC) comprised of experts in relevant disciplines.

The ARC will make recommendations for a select group of applications to proceed to Phase 2. Phase 2 applicants will be invited to discuss their proposal during an in-person meeting with the final judging panel at the Brackish Groundwater National Desalination Research Facility (BGNDRF) in Alamogordo, NM.

The selected Phase 2 applicants will have the opportunity to prepare for travel and are expected to be at BGNDRF from October 19-20, 201 6.
