PSMFC - Contractual Fractional Marking

The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) intends to issue a grant agreement to Pacific States Marine Fisheries Commission under the authority of Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) 1 5. 512, Central Valley Project Improvement Act, Public Law 102-575, Section 3406(b)(1) and 3407(e).



Estimated total amount of agreement is $341,63 1. 6 9. Reclamation is providing $113,87 7. 240 in Fiscal Year 201 8. The purpose of this project is the Coded Wire Tagging (CWT) program in the greater Pacific region of North America continues to be one of the most important tools for salmonid research and management.

The CWT system remains the only stock identification tool that is Pacific coastwide in scope and provides unparalleled information about ocean distribution patterns, hatchery contributions to catch, smolt to adult survival rates, hatchery fish spawner abundance on the natural spawning grounds, differential in-hatchery treatments, and more.

The Trinity River Hatchery was established to mitigate for lost habitat above the dams and provide fish to meet conservation and harvest below.
