Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Anaconda Inspection Station

The AnacMonda watercraft inspection station is located on Interstate 90, and in 2017 began inspecting westbound watercraft traffic as it enters the Columbia River Basin.

The road is a corridor for high risk boat traffic moving west from eastern dreissenid mussel impacted states and from the lower

Colorado River.

The station plays a pivotal role in identifying AIS on watercraft and has been responsible for intercepting eight mussel fouled vessels in the last two years.

This is a high value station that supports an important role in protecting the Columbia River Basin from controlling the AIS.

The watercraft inspection stations are established in locations to address watercraft that represent the highest risk of transporting AIS into the state
