The U. S. Embassy in Baghdad’s Public Affairs (PA) Section is seeking an implementer for a two-week study tour in the United States on the topic of media curriculum development.
The program, to take place between May and December 2018, will include eight Iraqi participants selected by Embassy
PA staff, of which six will be university administrators and educators with a role in curriculum development at their institutions, and two will be members of the Government of Iraq’s Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) committee that annually updates the national university curriculum for media education.
Iraq has a standardized curriculum for media colleges, but universities have the flexibility to update up to 30 percent of the curriculum each year.
A combined program for government officials and university representatives will help ensure that other universities throughout the country benefit from the best practices learned during the study tour and help the two groups connect and share information with one another, as well as with their U. S. counterparts.
Subject to the availability of funds, the Embassy expects to award one Grant up to $150,000 to carry out the Media Curriculum Development for Iraqi Educators and Policymakers.
