Purpose of Program:
The purposes of this program are to:
(1) Help address State-identified needs for personnel preparation in special education, early intervention, related services, and regular education to work with children, including infants and toddlers, with disabilities; and (2) ensure that those personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge, derived from practices that have been determined through scientifically based research and experience, to be successful in serving those children.

Applications for grants under the Early Childhood Personnel Center competition, CFDA number 8 4. 325B, must be submitted electronically using the Governmentwide Grants.gov Apply site at www.Grants.gov.

On April 19, 2017, we published in the Federal Register (82 FR 18447) a notice inviting applications (NIA) for the Personnel Development to Improve Services and Results for Children with Disabilities--Early Childhood Personnel Center competition.

The NIA established a deadline date of June 5, 2017, for the transmittal of applications.

This notice reopens the competition until September 11, 201 7.
