Purpose of ProgramIn an effort to support the implementation of effective school improvement strategies, the U. S. Department of Education (Department) is using a portion of its FY 2016 School Improvement Grants (SIG) national activities funds to initiate the FY 2017 grant competition for the Opening Doors, Expanding Opportunities program.

Applications for grants under the Opening Doors, Expanding Opportunities program must be submitted electronically using the Governmentwide Grants.gov Apply site at www.Grants.gov.
