Reduction in Lead Exposure Via Drinking Water

The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is soliciting applications from eligible applicants as described in Section III.A to reduce lead in drinking water in disadvantaged communities through infrastructure and/or treatment improvements or facility remediation in schools and child care facilities.

goal of these projects is to address conditions that contribute to increased concentrations of lead in drinking water.

The lead reduction projects should proceed to implementation upon award.

The proposed projects support the Agency’s Strategic Plan for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018 – 2022, Goal 1:
A Cleaner, Healthier Environment:
Deliver a cleaner, safer, and healthier environment for all Americans and future generations by carrying out the Agency’s core mission, Objective 1. 2:
Provide for Clean and Safe Water.

All applications must be for projects that support the goals and objectives identified above.

National Priority Areas identified in this announcement are for:
(1) Reduction of Lead Exposure in the Nation’s Drinking Water Systems through Infrastructure and Treatment Improvements and (2) Reduction of Children’s Exposure to Lead in Drinking Water at Schools and Child Care 2 Page Facilities.

Assisting drinking water systems, schools, child care facilities, and communities nationwide to remediate sources of lead in their drinking water to minimize lead exposure is a key priority for the Agency.
