Natural Resources Damage Assessment, Restoration and Implementation

To restore natural resources injured by oil spills or hazardous substance releases.

This is done by Natural Resource Trustees; seeking and identifying natural resources injured, determining the extent of the injuries, recovering damages from responsible parties, and planning and carrying out

natural resource restoration activities.

Authorities for these actions are as follows:
Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, 42 U.S.C 9601, et seq.; Federal Water Pollution Control Act, 33 U.S.C 1251-1387; Fish and Wildlife Act of 1956, 16 U.S.C 742a-742j; Oil Pollution Act of 1990, Public Law 101-38 0.
