This project will be awarded to a Rocky Mountain Cooperative Ecosystems Studies Units (RMCESU) partner organization that is highly-experienced in designing and implementing projects (research, monitoring, and/or modeling) for priority species of raptors in Region 6 of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service
(Service).
Applicants must have extensive specialized experience in designing studies on wild raptors, planning for field work in remote areas, permitting to work with species protected by federal laws, and safely working with a variety of raptor species (including such practices as safe live-trapping, handling, and application of various types of transmitters to hawks, eagles, falcons, and/or owls).
Priority species of interest include Ferruginous Hawk, Golden Eagle, Bald Eagle, Short-eared Owl, Burrowing Owl, and Flammulated Owl.
