The Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB), U. S. Department of Labor (USDOL, or the Department), announces the availability of funding to create and administer technical assistance project(s) in Malaysia to increase the mobilization of civil society and the private sector to address forced labor

and/or child labor in one or more industries and/or supply chain(s) in Malaysia.

Each project should achieve the following outcomes:Outcome 1:
Improved capacity of private sector partner(s) to implement a social compliance system aimed at eliminating forced labor and/or child labor in one or more industries and/or supply chains producing goods in Malaysia;Outcome 2:
Improved capacity of civil society, which includes worker organizations, to address forced labor and/or child labor in one or more industries and/or supply chains producing goods in Malaysia; andOutcome 3:
Increased collaboration between civil society, the private sector, government, and other stakeholders to address forced labor and/or child labor in one or more industries and/or supply chains producing goods in Malaysia.The duration of the project(s) will be a maximum of 4. 5 years (54 months) from the effective date of the award.

Applicants must propose to focus the project on one or more industries or supply chains producing electronics, garments, palm oil, or rubber gloves in Malaysia, all of which appear on USDOL’s List of Goods Produced by Child Labor or Forced Labor as mandated by the Trafficking Victims Reauthorization Act of 200 5.
