American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, Information Technology Professionals in Health Care: Training Grants Furnishing Academic Program Development Assistance for University-Based Training of Health Information Technology Professionals

This funding opportunity will provide new training grants to four-year institutions of higher education, or consortia led by four-year institutions of higher education, for expansion and/or creation of university-level training programs in fields related to health information technology.

Each

credit:


educational program (e.g., specialization within baccalaureate-level studies or certificate of advanced studies or master?s degree) targeted for creation or expansion must address one or more of the six targeted roles listed in the announcement.





The purpose of this program is to rapidly increase the availability of individuals qualified to serve in specific health information technology professional roles requiring university-level training.

The training supported by this program will emphasize programs that can be completed by the trainee in one year or less, and programs that will remain available and sustainable after the funding provided by this funding opportunity has been expended.
