AoA is accepting applications for proposed projects that further the purposes of Title IV of the Older Americans Act, as amended, the AoA strategic plan, and the AoA mission.
Title IV projects must:
test new and innovative approaches to the design and delivery of programs and services for
older persons; expand knowledge and understanding of the older population and the aging process; help meet the needs for trained personnel in the field of aging; and/or increase awareness of the need for individuals to assume responsibility for their own longevity.
When developing its application, an applicant should strongly consider its data, measurement, collection, reporting, and evaluation methodologies as AoA is particularly interested in funding innovative performance models that can demonstrate successful outcomes and that may be replicated by other organizations.
Program demonstrations that are based on evidence-based models that have been supported by research (preferably randomized control trials that are published in peer reviewed journals) are preferred.
An applicant applying for grant funds through this Open Solicitation should be aware that this is a highly competitive program.
Limited funds are available to support applicants' proposed Open Solicitation projects.
AoA anticipates funding only 1-2 applications per fiscal year submitted in response to this Open Solicitation.
The majority of AoA discretionary grant funds are directed to applications submitted in response to funding opportunity announcements for established AoA grant programs.
Announcements for these programs are also available at www.grants.gov.
Applicants seeking AoA grant funds for projects that would be eligible for funding under an established grant program should submit applications in response to an issued announcement for that program.
