Securing Justice: Developing the Capacity of Mexican Justice Sector Operators within the New Criminal Justice System

INL seeks to enable various public justice sectors, including judiciaries, attorneys general, and other public offices to improve their capacity to investigate and prosecute both national and transnational crime.

The qualified organization will enhance citizen security for Mexico and the United

States by advocating for standardization and certification of justice sector actors.

The organization will also develop exams for certification of justice sector operators and their trainers, for a Cooperative Agreement to implement a project entitled “Securing Justice:
Developing the Capacity of Mexican Justice Sector Operators within the New Criminal Justice System.” The authority for this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is found in the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Applicants that qualify to receive U. S. grants (such as U. S. not-for-profit/non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or U. S. based educational institutions subject to section 501(c)(3) of the U. S. tax code; foreign not-for-profits/non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or foreign based educational institutions), with the ability to develop and successfully implement a project in Mexico and meet INL’s reporting requirements.

Organizations must also be able to demonstrate current (or pending) country registration in Mexico, if required.
