BLM CA Friends of Jawbone

Our Objectives in nature is directed toward protecting the natural environment and doing our best to ensure our visitors are as safe as they can be.

We do this by offering very detailed route-trails maps and handouts about riding on federal lands and personal contact with a knowledgeable visitor

center staff member to answer any questions.

The purpose of this agreement is to provide interpretive materials and staffing to educate the visiting public about the various recreational, natural, and cultural resources found on the public lands of this OHV area.

The interpretation and education conducted by the recipient are effective tools in teaching visitorâ¿¿s outdoor ethics and acceptable safe behaviors while recreating on public lands.

BLM recognizes the importance of taking education to -where the Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) users are- to reach outdoor recreationists with a stewardship, safety and outdoor ethics message in an environment where they can provide educational information through one on one contact, video, displays and information.

Once engaged, an understanding and appreciation of resource values generally follows, which in turn often results in heightened resource protection where visitors pursue recreational endeavors.
