This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s intention to award financial assistance for the following project activities without competition.

Cooperative agreement P14AC00951 was entered into between

the Museum of African American History (MAAH), a non-profit corporation and the National Park Service to further the preservation and interpretation of the African Meeting House and the Abiel Smith School as it relates to the creation and development of the free African American community within Beacon Hill prior to the Civil War.

This project provides public programming, conducts research and provides resources that will ensure the public's understanding of the rich legacy of the 19th century African American community on Beacon Hill as stated in the enabling legislation for the Boston African American National Historic Site (Public Law 96-430)
