BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES This Cooperative Agreement P17AC00175 (Agreement) is entered into by the U. S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service (NPS), and WisCorps, Inc., (Recipient).
The objective of this Agreement is to provide an opportunity for youth training and career development
while accomplishing meaningful natural resources management work.
Project work will introduce youth to an ecosystem type, wetlands, that provide critical services necessary to maintain an overall healthy environment.
The youth crew will be trained by NPS staff to conduct wetland restoration actions inclusive of eradication of invasive species, plant installation, plant propagation, and seed collection.
RECIPIENT AGREES TO:
1. To assist with recruit and selection of a team of interns comprised of one crew leader and four team members to participate in the work described in Article I and throughout this document.
2. Train, mentor, and supervise interns.
3. Provide interns with living allowance, housing allowance, travel allowance for relocation to and from Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, workers compensation, liability insurance.
4. Provide transportation to project work sites.
5. Provide NPS a report summarizing project accomplishments.
6. Routinely communicate with park staff and identified project officials 7. Be available for resolution of issues related to the team.
NATIONAL PARK SERVICE AGREES TO:
1. Select, and manage inters related work projects.
2. Support the education and professional development goals of the team.
3. Participate and collaborate jointly with the Recipient in carrying out the scope of work.
4. Provide a NPS technical representative to assist with specifics of the project as needed.
5. Review and approve one stage of work before the next stage can begin.
6. Provide supplies, tools, and equipment as necessary for execution of restoration tasks.
7. Provide financial assistance in accordance with Article VI.
8. Oversee Recipient discretion with respect to scope of work, organizational structure, staffing, mode of operations and other management processes, combined with close monitoring or operational involvement during performance under this Task Agreement.
