OJJDP FY 2014 Family Drug Court Statewide System Reform

The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is seeking to infuse effective family drug court practices established at the individual, local level and institutionalize them in the larger state-level child welfare, substance abuse treatment, and court systems.

The purpose of

this state systems reform effort is to expand the scale of family drug courts (i.e., penetration rate of the larger child welfare and substance abuse treatment systems) and scope (i.e., range of comprehensive services for families) to serve all families in the child welfare system affected by parental substance use disorders more effectively and improve child, parent, and family outcomes.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Applicants are limited to the state Administrative Office of the Court (AOC), working in conjunction with and coordinating closely with the state’s Court Improvement Program (CIP).

Although the AOC is the designated lead agency, the application should be submitted jointly with the state child welfare agency and state substance abuse treatment agency as required collaborating partners.

OJJDP welcomes joint applications; however, one eligible entity must be the applicant and the others must be proposed as subrecipients.

The applicant must be the entity with primary responsibility for conducting and leading the project.

OJJDP may elect to make awards for applications submitted under this solicitation in future fiscal years, dependent on the merit of the applications and on the availability of appropriations.
