Neurobiology of Adolescent Drinking in Adulthood (NADIA)(U01 and U24)
The purpose of this initiative is to support a consortium of researchers across different research institutions to clearly define the persistent effects of adolescent alcohol exposure, and to begin to explore the neurobiological mechanisms underlying these effects.This initiative is limited to animal studies only. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Cooperative Agreement (U01) or the Resource-Related (U24) award mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. NIAAA expects to commit approximately $4 million in total costs in Fiscal Year 2010 to fund one consortium of several new cooperative agreements in response to this RFA.It is anticipated that a single consortium will contain 7-10 individual U01 and U24 applications.
