WETLAND RESTORATION PLANNING, DESIGN, AND IMPLEMENTATION ASSISTANCE

The Natural Resources Conservation Service in Louisiana is requesting applications to provide planning, design and implementation of restoration activities on eligible Agricultural Conservation Easement Program/Wetland Reserve Easement, Wetlands Reserve Program, and Emergency Watershed Protection –

The objective of ACEP/WRE and WRP/EWP-FPE is to provide technical and financial assistance to landowners in planning, designing and implementing wetland and associated upland restoration plans that maximize wildlife habitat in wetland systems, as well as provide water quality improvements, reduced soil erosion, reduced impacts of flooding and provide wildlife habitat opportunities for threatened and endangered species.

Applicants will be responsible for assisting landowners by providing technical assistance necessary to develop and implement ACEP/WRE and WRP/EWP-FPE restoration plans, while at the same time improving and protecting wetland habitat for environmental benefits.

Louisiana NRCS anticipates that the amount available for support of this program in Fiscal Year 2016 will be $5,000,00 0. Funds will be awarded through competitive cooperative agreements.

Applications will be accepted from eligible individuals/entities, Federally-recognized Indian Tribes, Federal, State, and local governments, and non-governmental organizations.

This notice identifies the Louisiana program objectives and eligibility criteria for projects, and provides the associated instructions needed to apply.
