The primary purpose of Emergency Management Performance Grants program is to assist state, local and tribal governments prepare for all hazards.

The Department of Homeland Security, through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) $329,140,400 available for Region 5 – the Upper Midwest from Ohio to Minnesota for the purpose of providing a system of emergency preparedness for the protection of life and property.

FEMA provides coordination and direction through the Emergency Management Performance Grants program to ensure that a comprehensive emergency preparedness system exists for all hazards.

Theoretical Nuclear Physics

The National Science Foundation provides funding on an unrestricted basis (anyone with qualifications can apply) to support research in theoretical nuclear physics.

If performs research which includes theoretical advances, model building, applications for experimental programs.

Through its Nuclear Theory Program it delves into the structure and reactions
of nuclei, and of hadrons in few-nucleon and nuclear environments, and the quark/gluon substructure expressed by quantum chromodynamics (QCD).

Prevention of HIV Transmission/Acquisition through a better understanding of Reproductive Health (R01)

A Funding Opportunity Announcement from the the National Institutes of Health provides $2,000,000 to further understanding of HIV acquisition and transmission, through greater insights into the interaction of reproductive health and HIV prevention.

The emphasis of the government grant is to encourage comprehensive behavioral-biomedical approaches that can lead to new insights in HIV prevention research.

The money is provided through the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development which is soliciting applications from a wide range of organizations including: Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian Serving Institutions; Eligible Agencies of the Federal Government; Faith-based or Community-based Organizations; Hispanic-serving Institutions; Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs); Indian/Native American Tribal Governments (Other than Federally Recognized); Non-domestic (non-U.S.) Entities (Foreign Organizations); Regional Organizations; Tribally Controlled Colleges and Universities (TCCUs) ; U. S. Territory or Possession.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Education Grants from the Department of Defense are designed to increase innovation in science, technology, engineering and mathematics programs for students in grades 4 through 12.

This particular opportunity is for $50,000 from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD, Education Outreach Program.

It is open to schools that have a formal Education Partnership Agreement in place.

Family Violence Prevention and Services Discretionary Grants: National and Special Issue Resource Centers – National Resource Center on Domestic Violence (NRCDV)

The Administration for Children and Families in cooperation with Administration on Children, Youth and Families, and the Family and Youth Services Bureau is soliciting Cooperative Agreement applications to support a National Resource Center on Domestic Violence.

This funding of approximately $1,500,000 is made available through the Department of Health and Human Services and the Family Violence Prevention and Services Discretionary Grants program.

The National Resource Center on Domestic Violence will operate a clearinghouse to collect, prepare, analyze, and disseminate information and statistics related to the incidence, intervention, and prevention of family violence, domestic violence and dating violence; and the provision of shelter, supportive services, and prevention services to adult and youth victims of family violence, domestic violence, and dating violence which includes services to prevent repeated incidents of violence.

Assess, Protect and Stabilize Eroding Archeological Sites through Soft Stabilization Techniques – Canaveral National Seashore

The National Park Service, an Office of the Department of the Interior is making $48,000 available to assess the stability of five archeological sites along the Canaveral National Seashore.

The Canaveral National Seashore has experienced coastal erosion caused by storms, high water events and boat wakes.

This project will define preferred alternatives for low-cost and low-impact site protection and stabilization in consultation with Native American Tribes and the Florida SHPO.

The Nevada District Office of the Bureau of Land Management, within the U.S. Department of the Interior is making $100,000 available to partner with an organization in the management and implementation of environmental education and interpretive projects, as well as the implementation of conservation and resource protection projects.

The Department of Homeland Security is funding $329,140,400 for the development of disaster management system which includes system of emergency preparedness to safeguard life and property from all types of hazards in the United States.

Region 1 includes the all of the New England States from Maine through Connecticut.

It will be directed, guided and assisted through Emergency Management Performance Grants program to make the system more comprehensive.

NIA Limited Competition: Renewals of, and Revisions to, Existing Cooperative Agreement Awards

The Department of Health and Human Services of National Institutes of Health is going to renew funding of National Institute on Aging supported cooperative agreements.

The eligible agencies are from US only and it includes Federal government agencies, faith-based or community based organization, universities, and collages.

But no foreign components of US organization are eligible under this financial benefit.
