NACA (2007) - $100,345

Lake & Peninsula Business Development Center (BDC) is an emerging Native CDFI established in 2002. BDC provides comprehensive economic development counseling services to individuals, small and start-up businesses, and larger ongoing concerns to a Low Income Targeted Population (LITP) in the Southwest Region of Alaska. BDC will use the 2007 FA grant of $101,139 to 1) pay for staff to implement the capitalization plan, create proposed products, and commence outreach activities; 2) pay for staff training in real estate finance and loan structuring; 3) to pay for travel throughout the investment area; and 4) purchases software and presentation materials.



NACA (2005) - $70,000

The Lake & Peninsula Business Development Center of King Salmon, AK provides business development and technical assistance services to the Lake and Peninsula Borough, which is 80% Alaska Native. The Awardee has been granted a technical assistance grant through the 2005 Native American CDFI Assistance (NACA) Program in the amount of $70,000 to facilitate the awardee"s development of a revolving loan fund to finance Native entrepreneurs and small business owners. Lake & Peninsula BDC will use the grant to: (1) acquire consulting services to develop loan policies and procedures, a product feasibility analysis, and a capitalization plan; (2) purchase computer hardware and software; (3) acquire training for staff and board members related to CDFI development and management; and (4) support operations.
