The Housing Development Fund, Inc. is a certified CDFI which promotes the development of affordable housing and homeownership opportunities for low-income residents of Fairfield County, CT.

FA (2005) - $950,000

HDF will use the $950,000 financial assistance award as loan capital to establish a Purchase/Rehab product for low-income, predominately minority individuals and families making as little as 60 percent of the Danbury MSA median income in looking to purchase a home in one of the four targeted Hot Zones.



TA (2004) - $25,000

The Housing Development Fund, Inc. will use the award to hire a consultant to conduct a market analysis of northern Fairfield County and to develop a system to evaluate the impact of its services.



CORE (2001) - $270,000

The Fund"s $230,000 capital grant will be used to provide homeownership down payment and closing costs assistance for low income individuals. The $40,000 TA grant will be used to conduct an assessment of HDF"s various programs in the market, and help HDF develop a capitalization strategy to improve its long-term financial viability and ability to continue to provide affordable financing in the market.



SECA (2000) - $30,000

The Fund"s technical assistance award will pay for HDF staff members to make site visits of selected other multi-bank CDCs throughout the country to learn about how they have dealt with issues of capitalization, marketing, and specific lending. It will also pay for the development of a website and the installation of a dedicated server for HDF"s computer system.



CORE (1997) - $78,500

A grant of $78,500 from the CDFI Fund will be used to establish a loan loss reserve necessary to attract new consortia lenders, to increase its loan pool and to broaden its service area within the county.
