NACA (2009) - $132,377

Turtle Mountain CDFI is an emerging Native CDFI serving the members of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa since 2008. The organization provides financial literacy courses and homebuyers education development services along with lending capital for small businesses, credit repair, and home repair assistance. Turtle Mountain CDFI will use its FY 2009 Technical Assistance award for operational support, training and technical assistance, and equipment.



NA (2008) - $77,536

The Turtle Mountain CDFI in an emerging Native CDFI, created under the Turtle Mountain Housing Authority. It was established in September 2006. Its target market is located in north central North Dakota including Rolette County and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Reservation. The applicant will use the 2008 Technical Assistance grant to: 1) support and grow its staff, 2) offer better and expanded development services, 3) further train its leadership, 4) conduct a targeted advertising campaign and 5) to purchase computer equipment, helping ensure a successful path toward creating and certifying a Native CDFI. The CDFI was awarded $77,536.



NACA (2007) - $117,987

Turtle Mountain Housing Authority (TMHA) is an Emerging CDFI that has actively served the Turtle Mountian Indian Reservation in Rolette County, North Dakota since 1963. TMHA provides financial counseling, homebuyer education, and loan packages related to homeownerhsip on the reservation. TMHA will use the 2007 NACA award of $117,987 to 1) provide for in-house personnel; 2) pay for staff training in portfolio management; 3) advertise locally to increase membership; and 4) purchase equipment and maintain office facility.



NACA (2005) - $150,000

TMHA will use a $150,000 technical assistance award through the 2005 Native American CDFI Assistance (NACA) Program to (1) purchase consulting services to develop: a market analysis, capitalization and strategic plans, policies and procedures, and a staff training program; (2) acquire technology and training, and (3) support operations.
