CDFI Awards for Corporation for the Development of Community Health Centers

NMTC (2003) - $12,000,000

CDCHC will utilize capital raised through it NMTC allocation to increase the volume of its activity, to reduce the cost to its borrowers, and to attract additional private investment. Since the capital raised through the NMTC allocation must remain "fully invested" for a minimum term of seven years, this helps provide a longer repayment term than is often offered by conventional financing sources. In some high-distress communities, the NMTC subsidy will spell the difference in a loan being made and a loan not being made.

FA (2003) - $150,000

The Fund"s $150,000 award will be used to make additional loans from the financing of buildings and equipment through the CDCHC"s revolving loan fund. Approximately 100% of this award will be targeted to Hot Zones.

SECA (2002) - $45,000

The Fund"s technical assistance grant will be used to purchase technology, train staff and board members, and obtain consulting and staff salary services to develop legal instruments and a comprehensive set of organizational policies and procedures.
