Key Lessons in Strategic Giving

Bruce DeBoskey, J.D., a philanthropic strategist working across the U.S. with The DeBoskey Group, shares key lessons in strategic giving.

DeBoskey writes about his experiences while stating that there is no better time to give than right now.

According to DeBoskey, philanthropy is a form of risk capital that drives innovation. He adds that philanthropy, dedicated to social rather than financial returns, may well be the final stronghold for true risk-taking.

DeBoskey also gives tips on setting philanthropic goals and looking at donors through two types of lenses: external and internal.

DeBoskey advises to create a safe zone for philanthropy in families, use the UN's Sustainable Development Goals as a roadmap, support smaller nonprofits, deploy capital holistically, and view philanthropy as a partnership. He also recognizes the nonprofit of the month, Every Child Pediatrics.
