Cleveland has witnessed a very philanthropic 2014, where The Cleveland Foundation has been instrumental in making the city more vibrant and its residents more charitable through its giving back outreach activities.

A slew of philanthropic efforts such as the popular Ice Bucket Challenge and Giving Tuesday has also been marked as 2014 philanthropic affairs. Indeed, Americans are more generous than ever in the past years. According to the study, "Giving USA: Annual Report on Philanthropy," Americans donated an estimated $335.17 billion to charitable causes in 2013, for a 3 percent increase over 2012.
