1. Support for the practice of high-quality, professional journalism through projects designed to support independent and fact-based journalism, as well as through initiatives involving practicing journalists and students aspiring to a career in media.

2. Support for media literacy and critical thinking through projects designed to help citizens of all ages recognize, analyze, and ultimately reject disinformation.

Important note:
Special consideration will be given to project proposals that use a methodological approach to outline a clear evaluation plan for measuring the impact of project activities (during, and/or immediately after, and/or six months to a year after the project’s completion).

For example, the impact of the project could be measured by the number or type of actions project participants took in their communities, as a result of their participation in the project.

Please note that impact should be measured by outcomes (the level of performance and achievement that came as a result of the completed project), rather than direct outputs (number of articles produced, number of people trained or activities implemented as part of the project).

Simply put, outcomes mean what happened because of the program.
