Technical Assistance to Government of Tanzania (GOT) and Public Health Institutions (PHIs) toward Sustained Health Systems Strengthening in Tanzania under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)

CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $4,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds.This NOFO will provide technical assistance (TA) to PHIs in the United Republic of Tanzania, including the mainland Ministry

of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDGEC), the mainland President's Office Regional and Local Government (PORALG), and the mainland Departments and Agencies, to fulfill their role to lead and manage the continued HIV response and to build and sustain health systems.

As the GOT and PEPFAR work together to expand services, PHI systems must continuously improve to achieve and maintain epidemic control.The agencies and departments monitor and guide implementation of the HIV/AIDS response, and secure and manage other inputs.

Other departments of the MoHCDGEC, including the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Human Resources Development and Management, Quality Improvement (QI) including Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), Diagnostic Services, and Information Communication Technology (ICT), all have specific mandates for outcomes related to the HIV/AIDS response.The TA will support capacity building to PHIs to accelerate provision of comprehensive and high quality HIV/AIDS services in order to ensure continuity of services, minimize new infections, and improve the quality of life of people living with HIV.

Recipient(s) will make available and transition to PHIs a range of TA skills and modalities that are responsive to the needs jointly identified and prioritized by stakeholders.
