of next-generation hydrokinetic energy converters, specifically tidal stream, riverine, and ocean current turbines, with significantly reduced operation and maintenance (O&M) costs, reduced installation costs, and optimized mass and efficiency.

ARPA-E desires input from a broad range of disciplines and fields, including, but not limited to:
developers of tidal, riverine, and/or ocean current energy systems, hydrodynamics, structural dynamics, controls engineering, design optimization, civil and environmental engineering, offshore and marine engineering, predictive maintenance, robotics, unmanned underwater vehicles, and others.

Consistent with the agency’s mission, ARPA-E is seeking information regarding clearly disruptive, novel technologies, early in the research and development (R&D) cycle, and not integration strategies for existing technologies.

The information you provide may be used by ARPA-E in support of program planning.
