The DOE SC program in Fusion Energy Sciences (FES) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Defense Program (DP) Office of Experimental Sciences jointly announce their interests in receiving applications for new and renewal awards for research in the SC-NNSA Joint Program in High-Energy-Density

All individuals or groups planning to submit applications for new or renewal funding in Fiscal Year 2020 should submit applications in response to this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA).

The specific areas of interest are:
HED Hydrodynamics Radiation-Dominated Dynamics and Material Properties Magnetized HED Plasma Physics Nonlinear Optics of Plasmas and Laser-Plasma Interactions Relativistic HED Plasmas and Intense Beam Physics Warm Dense Matter High-Z, Multiply Ionized HED Atomic Physics Diagnostics for HED Laboratory Plasmas More specific information on each area of interest is outlined in the general and program specific supplementary information provided in the announcement.

All types of domestic applicants are eligible to apply, except Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) Contractors, and nonprofit organizations described in section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 that engaged in lobbying activities after December 31, 1995.Other Federal agencies are not eligible to receive financial assistance awards and are therefore ineligible to submit applications.
