U. S. Geological Survey¿s (USGS) Powell Center is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research on ¿Reanalyzing and Predicting U. S. Water Use using Economic History and Forecast Data; an experiment in short-range national hydro-economic data synthesis.¿ The project will
develop relationships between demographic, economic, climate, hydrologic, and water use data for counties and watersheds within the U. S. Multiple, cross-disciplinary datasets will be synthesized, resulting in production of a reanalysis data product with monthly timescale coverage of county-level water use in the U. S. back to 1960, and with the capability to conduct short-range (quarterly, seasonal, monthly) water-use forecasts based on climate and economic forecast data.
