Marriage Strengthening Research & Dissemination Center

The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) is soliciting applications for the establishment of a Marriage Strengthening Research & Dissemination Center.

The grantee will oversee a 60-month plan that aims to form a nexus between basic and applied research and evaluation on marriage

and families in the United States and programmatic approaches to supporting healthy marriages and families, especially approaches fundable by the federal Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education (HMRE) program.

The Center will contribute to the research/evaluation base relevant to marriage/relationships (including current and future relationships among youth) and HMRE programs/practices; build and support capacity for demographic trends and practice-focused research and evaluation; and translate and disseminate emerging research and evaluation.

The Center will be expected to have a primary focus on economically disadvantaged populations and other under-studied population groups.

The Center also will be expected to actively engage a range of stakeholders, including researchers, evaluators, practitioners, program officials and policymakers, throughout the course of the project.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
The Principal Investigator (PI) who will head up the Marriage Strengthening Reseearch & Dissmination Center must conduct research as a primary professional responsibility, and have published in the major peer-reviewed research journals in the field as a first author or second author.

The PI must have a Ph.D.

or equivalent for his/her field, and should be an established expert as demonstrated by a substantial body of published work, including peer reviewed articles.

The PI must have experience and skills related to healthy marriage research, evaluation, and methodology.

The PI should also have experience in collaborating across multiple disciplines, including working with researchers and practitioners.

Acceptable evidence includes a current curriculum vitae or biographical sketch.

The proposed Project Manager (PM), who will be the central person managing the Marriage Strengthening Research and Dissemination Center, should have a Ph.

D.

or have a Masters with 10 or more years of experience conducting research.

The PM should have a track record of managing large scale research projects, involving a large team, such as experience conducting multi-site research studies.

Acceptable evidence includes a current curriculum vitae or biographical sketch.

Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement.

Applications from individuals (including sole proprietorships) and foreign entities are not eligible and will be disqualified from competitive review and from funding under this announcement.
