Strengthening the Direct Care Workforce: A Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Initiative

ACL will award one five year cooperative agreement to support the establishment of a national technical assistance center designed to strengthen the direct care workforce.

ACL seeks to advance capacity to recruit and retain a high-quality, competent and effective direct care workforce of professionals

capable of meeting the growing needs that older adults and people with disabilities have for such supports.

The technical assistance center will address the insufficient supply of trained direct care workers at a systems level, promote promising practices at all levels of the service system.

and improve data collection to enable a full understanding of the workforce issue.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Domestic public or private non-profit entities including state and local governments, Indian tribal governments and organizations (American Indian/Alaskan Native/Native American), faith-based organizations, community-based organizations, hospitals, and institutions of higher education.

Priority will be given to national public, national private non-profit agencies, national organizations including national faith and community based organizations (FBOs and CBOs), and national Indian tribal organizations.  Foreign entities are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement.

Faith-based and community organizations that meet the eligibility requirements are eligible to receive awards under this funding opportunity announcement.
