THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS.
This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s intention to award a task agreement under a previously competed or single source justified master cooperative agreement.
Master Cooperative Agreement
Number P15AC00012 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS), and Vermont Youth Conservation Corps (VYCC) to promote and stimulate education, job training, development of responsible citizenship, productive community involvement, and furthering the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of natural and cultural resources.
This project will provide hands-on service opportunities for two Community Conservation Crews (one 4-week and one 8-week crew, each with 8 members and 2 crew leaders) and a Fall Leadership Crew (4 weeks, 6 crew members), that will help develop a generation of skilled workers, educated and active citizens, future leaders and stewards of natural and cultural resources; Youth crew members in the three teams will address deferred maintenance projects on the park's 20 miles of carriage roads and trails and adjacent cultural landscape (e.g.
stone work repair, bridge and culvert repair, trail treadway reconditioning, fence repairs, resolving drainage issues, clearing encroaching vegetation from road/trail historic features, tree pruning/forest management along roads and trails, invasive removal, etc).
