Preservation, Rehabilitation, and Interpretation of the Old State House and the Old South Meeting House

This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service’s intention to award financial assistance under P20AC0069 4. Specified projects and initiatives pursuant to this Agreement will be individually authorized by separate

NPS task agreements, with each project or activity having a separate statement of work and budget developed cooperatively between the NPS and Revolutionary Spaces, Inc.

Examples of possible focus for subsequent ask agreements includes but are not limited to:
250th anniversary of the American Revolution events; Public access and programming for local community members and visitors at the two historic sites and; Historic preservation of the buildings and their grounds.

The Act of October 1, 1974 (88 Stat.

1184), the park’s enabling legislation, declared it a national policy to preserve, protect and interpret for the benefit and inspiration of the people of the United States as a national historical park certain historic structures and properties of outstanding national significance located in Boston, Massachusetts.

The Old State House and the Old South Meeting House are two of the outstanding historic sites mentioned in the Act.

Revolutionary Spaces, Inc., a private, 501 (c)(3) organization owns the Old South Meeting House, where the Boston Tea Party started; and operates the Old State House, where the Boston Massacre took place.

The Old State House is owned by the City of Boston but the Bostonian Society, the predecessor organization to Revolutionary Spaces, has leased the building, in fee from the City since 188 1.
