The purpose of this activity for Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in Eastern Uganda (RHITES-E) is to secure services to support the design and implementation of a comprehensive, integrated investment in regional health, HIV/AIDS, and nutrition assistance.
The activity will focus
on maximizing the impact of the Government of Uganda (GOU), the United States Government (USG), and other investments in health services and systems using a district-based integrated package of quality health, HIV/AIDS, nutrition, and child development services to contribute to significant, measurable, and sustainable impact on the beneficiary population.
The support to districts under Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in Eastern Uganda will be complemented by linkages with national health programs and systems.
This estimated $65,000,000 five-year activity targets 21 districts in Eastern Uganda and two districts in Karamoja (Kotido and Moroto) with an estimated total population of 5. 33 million, and builds on previous USAID-funded efforts to address HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis (TB), family planning (FP), malaria, nutrition, and maternal, neonatal, and child health (MNCH) as well as other related projects in the Eastern region.
