The purpose of this NOFO is to:
Conduct and monitor epidemiologic and laboratory-based projects, surveillance, and research of important diseases in South America (Brazil, Bolivia, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and Ecuador) including, but not limited to, activities
to address acute febrile illness, antimicrobial resistance and hospital acquired infections, respiratory infections and influenza, enteric illnesses, and other public health threats of local importance; and, Incorporate the results of these public health activities into operational disease detection, prevention, and response or control programs in South America, strengthen public health capacity as outlined in the Global Health Security Agenda, and disseminate findings across the region, with partners, and globally.
