The purpose of the Mentored Research Scientist Career Development Award in Tobacco Regulatory Research (K01) is to provide support and protected time (three, four, or five years) for an intensive, supervised career development experience in research in biomedical, behavioral, and social science research
credit:

that will inform the development and evaluation of regulations on tobacco product manufacturing, distribution, and marketing and that will lead to research independence.
