Improving Structures in Local Organizations to Address Workplace Harassment

The Public Affairs Sections of the U. S. Consulate General Karachi (PAS Karachi) is pleased to announce an open competition for assistance awards through this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), contingent on funding availability, through the Public Diplomacy Grants Program.

This project will

create and improve structures for reporting workplace harassment, particularly harassment against women, in local organizations in and around Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.

Over a period of 18 months, the implementing organization should work with 20 to 25 small and medium local organizations of various types to help their Human Resource (HR) personnel and/or departments design, develop, and/or improve internal processes, policies, and manuals to make the reporting of workplace harassment easier and safer.

Under this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), proposals should also impart training workshops for employees, HR Departments, workplace harassment committees, and senior management.

Training should be determined based on a research-led needs analysis and best practices from U. S. organizations such as the U. S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, but at a minimum would implement workplace harassment manuals, policies, and reporting structures.

The project should provide comprehensive support to the local organizations as they implement the newly developed policies, manuals, and structures.

In addition to training content, projects should also produce engaging supplementary materials, such as digital and static posters and graphics that local organizations can use.

In addition to working with the local organizations, the project implementer should develop exemplar digital trainings, posters, and manuals based on best practices, including from the United States, and tailored appropriately for local audiences, to be made available online to the public free of cost, to raise public awareness.

The timeframe for achieving the objectives must be clearly outlined in the proposal funding request.

The project implementation period should be 18 months.

Proposals have a funding floor of $125,000 and a funding ceiling of $150,00 0.
