Department of Health and Human Services offers funding for development of research tools for technical challenges in proteomics and glycomics. The funding opportunity is through the Small Business Innovation Research grant program to encourage small business growth and participation in this area.
Proteomics is the large-scale study of proteins, particularly their structures and functions. Glycomics is the comprehensive study of glycomes – the entire complement of sugars, whether free or present in more complex molecules, of an organism – including genetic, physiologic, pathologic, and other aspects.
This funding announcement is not restricted for robotics, sample preparation, analytical separations, improved informatics technologies.Technologies that constructs using glycomics may be also applicable.
