Government Grant – Prairie Dog Population and Habitat Monitoring

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, under the Department of the Interior announced that it awarded an $80,000 grant to Kansas State University to annually estimate black-tailed prairie dog population numbers, densities, and colony areas using accepted and previously used methods.

This non-competitive award was made to the University because of its specialized qualifications, specifically location and technical expertise.
